We are members of a worldwide sisterhood of women who believe that: life can be lived to the fullest after breast cancer diagnosis. We believe that physical exercise, participation in sports, enjoyment of healthy outdoor activities, caring and sharing lessons learned, enhances the quality of life. The sport of dragon boat racing enable us so to do, and gives us the visibility to share our philosophy, hope and joy with others.

The West Island Dragons was formed in the winter of 2003. Our home base is the Pointe Claire Canoe Club, 75 Lakeshore Road, Point Claire. This is where we hold our practices two nights a week on beautiful Valois bay, from April to the end of September, During the winter we attend fitness classes, pool practices at the Olympic Basin, share leisure outdoor activities and meet socially to keep our team spirit alive and well.
